What the HIPAA Security Rule expects
The HIPAA Security Rule requires covered entities and business associates to protect electronic protected health information with administrative, physical and technical safeguards, and to document their policies and procedures.
The HHS Office for Civil Rights regularly cites missing risk analyses and missing written policies in its enforcement actions. HHS also proposed significant updates to the Security Rule in January 2025.
This kit gives you the written policies and an operational toolkit to put them in practice. It does not replace your HIPAA risk analysis, which you still need to perform.
